yourself and your friends paddling furiously through
continuous, tumultuous rapids. No holds barred, shooting
straight from the hip, the Hudson is an unparalleled
wilderness river adventure - a true whitewater "10"!
|
Hudson River Whitewater Rafting |
| Our most exciting wilderness trip,
the Hudson River Gorge runs through the "forever
wild" Adirondack State Park. No macadam
roads here...just the magnificent Adirondack
Mountains and premier whitewater rafting. This
region is so beautiful, even the nearby New York
Thruway is known as one of America's most scenic
highways. Launching from the Inn at Gore
Mountain, this excursion offers magnificent
scenery and virtual isolation from the civilized
world. The majestic Adirondack Mountains rise
from the riverbanks, commanding an audience with
all who enter the jagged domain. The most adventurous
rafting enthusiast will be put to the test as
the fierce Class IV+ whitewater rapids vie for
control of your raft. |

“I
went on your Hudson trip on Saturday with two 14
year old boys.
Glen was the guide and he was wonderful!
He touched the lives of those boys in
ways that he will never know and made a lifetime
memory for them.
It was the best. Thanks – G.
Peterson”

| Imagine
leaning back, watching the campfire dance and
letting the soft sounds of the river cleanse the
soul. Your guides have set up your tent,
prepared a great meal, and just declared the
coffee finished. The lies being traded around
the campfire are interrupted by the call of a
Great Horned Owl, and it just doesn't get any
better than this.
Join us for two great days of
whitewater and one heck of a relaxing evening.
Take a side hike, catch a couple of trout for
breakfast, or finish that novel you have been
working on. An overnight trip on the Hudson
Gorge is an experience that will not be
forgotten.

“Just wanted to let you
know of the great job our guides, Krystal &
Tom, did this past weekend.
The six of us had a great time rafting
and camping on the Hudson.
The guides never stopped working to make
the experience one we’ll never forget, and
have already discussed repeating.
I will recommend this trip to everyone.
Thanks!”

Our raft base is in the Inn
on Gore, where owners Sue and Rich Mannuci
provide great lodging deals and wonderful aprés-raft
dinners. Here's how to get there:
From the South:
If you're coming from
below Albany, get to the New York State
Thruway I-87 and head north to ALBANY
exit 24. Get off the Thruway
(there's a toll booth at this exit) and get
onto the Northway I-87(Yep, it's the
same Interstate designation, but it's
different). Take exit 23 Warrensburg.
At the end of the ramp, take a left and then
go right at the traffic light. This will
put you on Route 9 heading north. You'll
know you are heading in the right direction if
you pass a McDonalds on your right immediately
after turning onto Route 9. Drive
through Warrensburg and about 2 miles north of
town take a left onto Route 28. You will
pass our store 11 miles or so down Route 28,
proceed another 5 miles and take a left
turn onto Peaceful Valley Road.
You'll know the turn is coming up in about a
mile when you pass two convenience stores on
your right. You will drive down Peaceful
Valley Road and pass the turn for Gore
Mountain Ski Center. 1/3 of a mile past
this, turn right into the driveway for the Inn
on Gore!
From
the North:
If you're north of exit 26, take the Northway
(I-87) to exit 26. Take a left at the
end of the ramp and a right at the stop sign.
You will be on Route 9 heading south.
Stay on Route 9 through Pottersville (at a
fork in the road you swing left to stay on
Route 9; don't head toward Minerva!) and all
the way down to Loon Lake. In Loon Lake,
turn right onto Route 8 heading southwest.
You will cross the Hudson River in Riparius.
At the traffic light in Wevertown, turn right
onto Route 28. Drive about five miles,
and take a left turn onto Peaceful
Valley Road. You'll know the turn is
coming up in about a mile when you pass two
convenience stores on your right. There
is a left-hand turn lane, take that left turn!
You will drive down Peaceful Valley Road and
pass the turn for Gore Mountain Ski Center.
1/3 of a mile past this, turn right into the
driveway for the Inn on Gore!
From the East:
North of exit 26, take the
Northway (I-87) to exit 26. Take a left
at the end of the ramp and a right at the stop
sign. You will be on Route 9 heading
south. Stay on Route 9 through
Pottersville (at a fork in the road you swing
left to stay on Route 9; don't head toward
Minerva!) and all the way down to Loon Lake.
In Loon Lake, turn right onto Route 8 heading
southwest. You will cross the Hudson
River in Riparius. At the traffic light
in Wevertown, turn right onto Route 28.
Drive about five miles, and take a left turn
onto Peaceful Valley Road. You'll know
the turn is coming up in about a mile when you
pass two convenience stores on your right.
There is a left-hand turn lane, take that left
turn! You will drive down Peaceful
Valley Road and pass the turn for Gore
Mountain Ski Center. 1/3 of a mile past
this, turn right into the driveway for the Inn
on Gore!
South of exit 23,
you will want to take exit 23 Warrensburg,
left at the end of the ramp and right at the
first light onto Route 9. Follow Rt. 9
through town and about 2 miles farther, turn
left onto Route 28. Take Rt. 28 about 15
miles, turn left onto Peaceful Valley Road
(there should be a sign for Gore Mtn at this
turn). Drive this road about a mile and
you will pass the Gore Mountain Ski Resort
Driveway. 1/3 of a mile past this, turn
right into the Inn on Gore's driveway, where
our raft base is located! Oh yes, if you're
by exits 24 or 25, head to exit 26 and
follow the North paragraph here!
